“Ummm… Hi”

I remember the first time I walked up to a girl and introduced myself, wow it was definitely the most awkward and embarrassing moment of my life. I was at Sandton city and after watching a movie, one of my friends dared me to talk to this girl. I came up with every excuse I could think of, for example, “Wait bro, her friends are all there.” or, “Nah man she isn’t even worth the effort.” (meanwhile she’s one of the most gorgeous creatures I’ve ever seen). After a while of arguing I eventually found the required balls to go talk to her. Every step I took towards her, I would look back at my mate with a ‘do I really have to do this’ kind of face. About a metre to go and she notices my intention, for some reason this made my nervousness double. I was shaking with fear. “Ummm… Hi” was my pickup line of choice, followed by silence. My shaking was visible to nearly everyone in our solar system. I then just blurted out; “can I please have your number?” what came next probably effected me forever; this bitch starts laughing and replies “Ummm… Bye!”
